David is Senior Counsel in the firm’s Landlord/Tenant law practice group, where he provides experienced legal counsel to landlords, investors, lenders, developers, and tenants of both commercial and residential properties. David is responsible for helping our clients navigate the complex world of NYC’s administrative and rent regulatory laws, while also developing strategies and reports on how to best generate the highest return on investment.

David also serves as an integral member of the firm’s transactional group, representing both buyers and sellers of residential and commercial real estate. Utilizing the experience gleaned from working on a myriad of such transactions over the years, David is constantly finding unique solutions to complex problems presented by his clients.

Prior to joining Chaves Perlowitz Luftig, David spent several years as the Director of Legal Strategy at one of New York City’s premier real estate consulting firms. During this time, David became a highly sought-after speaker at real estate conferences and events while also publishing in widely circulated industry periodicals.

David currently lives with his wife and two sons. When not busy practicing law, David enjoys spending time with his family and watching the Mets continuously disappoint him.
