Alan J. Perlowitz, Esq.

Alan Perlowitz is the managing partner of Chaves Perlowitz Luftig LLP and heads up the firm’s Real Estate and Banking Practice Groups.

Alan, armed with a strong accounting (Alan is a non-practicing CPA as well as attorney) and finance background, counsels clients on a diverse array of real estate, finance, tax and corporate matters. This unique blend of business and legal expertise has given Alan an advantage when structuring, documenting and closing transactions.

Alan concentrates his practice in commercial and residential real estate with a strong emphasis on representing institutional lenders in real estate and asset based lending transactions. Many of Alan’s loans include properties secured by office buildings, shopping centers, multi-family and industrial buildings, mixed-use facilities, construction projects and hotels.

In addition, Alan has extensive experience in representing clients in the acquisition, sale and financing of residential cooperatives, condominiums and townhouses. Alan is sought after by many of NYC’s top real estate brokers, bankers and clients, because of his uncanny ability to evaluate complex issues and his dedication to resolving matters in a timely and professional manner.

Alan is the father of three daughters and enjoys golf, tennis and spending time with his family.

Andrew Luftig

If you’re interested in purchasing or selling residential properties in New York, Andrew Luftig— considered by many to be the city’s most accessible and proactive real estate attorney—is the man to see. A focused and experienced veteran of many successful real estate transactions, Andrew has become a go-to attorney for many of New York City’s leading real estate professionals.

In addition to his real estate expertise, Andrew specializes in banking transactions, business transactions, and estate planning.

Andrew also gives back to the professional community on a weekly basis through educational lectures with many of the city’s top residential real estate companies.

Prior to joining the firm, Andrew spent several years with Irwin, Lewin, Cohn & Lewin, PC, where he honed his legal skills as counsel to both private and institutional clients in residential and commercial real estate transactions. Andrew’s duties with the firm included the representation of everyone from first-time buyers and sellers to those acquiring high-end luxury properties and leasing hundreds of thousands of square feet of office space.

Andrew’s excellence in the real estate arena has led to a number of honors and accolades, including a Brooklyn “Star Under 40” designation in 2017 and multiple“Super Lawyer” awards. In addition, Andrew’s expertise has resulted in appearances on Cheddar TV, “The American Dream”, “Good Morning New York, Real Estate with Vince Rocco,” “Block & Lot,” and a feature in “Brick and Underground.” Andrew holds a bachelor’s degree in business from the University at Buffalo and a juris doctorate from Touro Law Center.

Andrew lives in Upper Saddle River, New Jersey, with his wife and four children. Not one to sit still, when he isn’t training for a triathlon, coaching youth sports, or spending time with his family and friends, he can be found exploring the streets of New York City.

Jordan S. Linn, Esq.

Jordan S. Linn’s practice focuses on estate planning, business succession planning, and the administration of estates and trusts.  Jordan is practice group leader for the firm’s trusts and estates practice, with an uncompromising commitment to providing each and every client with responsive, efficient, and sophisticated counsel.

Prior to joining the firm, Jordan spent many years in practice at Farrell Fritz, P.C., and has extensive experience structuring and executing sophisticated gift, estate, and generation skipping tax planning techniques.  He represents clients in preparing their last will and testaments, trust agreements, and advance directives. He is a seasoned expert in the drafting and implementation of grantor retained annuity trusts (GRAT); qualified personal residence trusts (QPRT); intentionally defective grantor trust transactions (IDGT); irrevocable life insurance trusts; charitable lead and remainder trusts (CLAT/CRAT); revocable living trusts; and dynasty and generation skipping tax (GST) trust planning.

Jordan adeptly guides clients through the probate and administration of estates and trusts, including complex estates involving numerous testamentary and intervivos trusts, and requiring the preparation of state and federal estate tax returns.  Jordan regularly advises clients regarding asset protection planning and Medicaid planning, and represents clients involved in audits and tax court proceedings relating to gift, estate, and excise taxes.  He is also experienced in the formation and representation of private foundations and public charities.

Jordan is a frequent and well-regarded lecturer on a myriad of trusts and estates topics, presenting regularly at continuing education programs for attorneys and accountants.  He has also served as an adjunct professor at LIU Post and CUNY Queens College.

Jordan’s pedigree and stellar reputation in the trusts and estates arena has led to various honors and accolades, including an AV “Preeminent” Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Rating, multiple “SuperLawyer” awards, a LIBN “40 under 40” award, and an LIBN “Leadership in Law” award.

Originally a Brooklyn native, Jordan now lives on Long Island with his wife and two sons.  When he’s not in the bleachers watching his boys on the basketball court, baseball diamond, or lacrosse field, he enjoys travelling and spending time with family and friends.
